a growing list of items i think make the perfect articulation of fit form and functional…clothing for #FallIn is all about transitions and transportation. layering in a comfortable but elevated way. right now notice more accessories than anything else here, a work in progress as usual. fml.
Theres always a season, reason, or function. BUT Accessories are having a moment now. The proverbial key to a more compact wardrobe that’s also more effective in creating a head-turning look. but i still shy, keeping my clothing relatively simple and classic. Mix in a splash of Velvet, Metallic Embellishments, Pattern Mix-n-Match, Macrame, and jewelry in gold and silver from bicep to midi ring, from crown to chest. Headbands, embellished hair pins, scarves, and bows [I confess I am loving hair bows atm] are definitely in my capsule for Fall season.
By adapting similar items, to the ones i’ve selected at random below, to your own budget and taste, you’ll be set for the season. ACCESSORIES continue to beat out their clothing counterparts year over year (from 2017 to 2020 in sales) as these statement pieces can disrupt a plain top and bottom in a magical way! (***NOTE: doesn’t need to be the exact designer, these are more spotting trends I like and feel are cool, I might not buy this brand but I have to tag it bc it’s their property, so note: I do not spend 5000 on shoes ever - why? Because they get worn and the street is hard. I’d much rather invest in a trip to Europe.) I try to buy items in that top 20% as Pareto would put it, these items can result in a large change in 80% of your outfits, as endless options and the accessorize factor lets one relax in classic season-less shapes that are best for our body type.
If you don't know your body shape, and what clothing silhouettes best suit your body type I would highly recommend doing some research on it. The biggest problem I see while walking the streets is women taking on certain trends by way of styles, colors, or fits that are not flattering on their body type. The Wide Leg Jean for instance, if you're pear shaped or have larger legs, you need to go for a pair that is tighter in the thigh and higher in the waist, I would also stick to darker colors. In this way you'll elongate your body, rather than shortening it. For any styling tips, feel free to reach out to me on my contact page. Ive been working on a body type editorial for a while and will realease it soon! Expect tricks n tips to help you maximize your figure and minimize any insecurity. will be adding more items to this post of fall x winter x springier must haves as the season(s) continue to unfold.. Enjoy!
